South Beach Wine & Food Festival


I have always wanted to go to this event and I finally made it. I started out the day going to The Grand Tasting Village. A huge white tent area that takes you through all the new trends and products in the beverage industry. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with wine, cocktails, wine, food samples, and more wine everywhere. This event had more wine than food. Not that I'm complaining, just saying. This was the most that I have ever drank. The buzz was real. There was also panel discussions, demos, and giveaways.


A whole lotta "cluelessness" in these pics. Even though there was more wine than food, I was still able to try some foods. From handmade ice cream to scotch egg. Some got a yay from me. Others was a nah. Either way I tried 'em. 


After all the "cluelessness", I stumbled my way over to Loews Miami Beach for a conversation with one of my favs, Bizarre Foods star Andrew Zimmern. He talked about SNAP, women in the industry, immigrants, and more.


Last but not least was an intimate dinner at EDGE Steak & Bar located inside Four Seasons Miami. This dinner was prepared by some of the Houston area top chefs. It started out with a reception followed by a 3 course meal then dessert. My favorite of them all was the Makkum (fish stew).

Overall, I enjoyed this festival. There were so many other (mini) events going on throughout the festival and I was mad I couldn't go to them all. But the organizers know what they're doing. They want you to come back and I most certainly will be back again. If you want to go to this event, I'm going to keep it all the way real.

The tickets aren't cheap but the experience is worth it. Some events were FREE (like the tasting village) but you have to register for it. This festival is a must for foodies and wine/drink lovers. Can't wait till next year.
