"Clueless" How To- 6 Ways To Save Money On Groceries

We're halfway through the year and goodness how time flies. Did you have saving money on groceries on your list of things to achieve for 2017? Yeah, me too! I'm pretty sure most of us had something along the lines of that on the list. If you didn't achieve that goal, no worries.

The year is not over yet and there's still time to achieve it. Below I'm sharing some "clueless" tips to help you save a buck or two. Check them out and start saving today.

Budget- Start creating one and stick to it PERIOD. Try to use cash as much as you can so you don't go overboard.

Shop With A List- Take out your phone, go to your notes pad (or whatever else you use), and open your refrigerator door. Get that list going. A list of necessary items. Yeah! I know it's annoying but you do want to save right?

Buy Store Brands- Simply put, they are inexpensive than brand names and the ingredients listed are about the same. Psst... and sometimes taste even BETTER.

Shop The Farmer's Market/Discount Stores- I love the farmer's market and I shop there every chance I get. As for discount stores Big Lots is one of my favs. I'm all over the place when it comes to supermarkets and natural food stores. I'm not loyal to just one store. However, there are a few places I no longer step foot in because of my terrible shopping experience. Thank goodness they're not the only places to shop.

Green Thumb- Grow your own food. I'm so jelly of those who grow their own food. My space won't let me be great. However, I've had some success with growing some herbs. Well, mainly basil. The other herbs are so disrespectful.

Don't Shop When Hungry- When you do that you end up paying more for high calorie, processed, and low nutrient foods. Just don't do it. Your body will thank you.

BONUS: Be a vegan/vegetarian for a day by trying out new meatless dishes. *ducking* I'm not forcing anyone to give up their meats at all. But when you know better you "try" to do better. I know some folks get riled up like Ron Swanson when talks of giving up meat occurs. My goal is to guide and not force.

I've reduced my consumption and I shared my plant based experience. I know what it's like when certain people try to force their agenda peoples down my throat. It never really helps and I won't be that person. Again, my goal is to guide and not force.

What are some ways you save money on groceries?
