Vegan Bruh- Kurtis

This vegan bruh says we are people who have made a conscious decision

How long have you been a vegan? I've been vegan for 9 months. I'm excited to reach my 1 year anniversary. I would love to treat myself to a new vegan restaurant.

Was the transition easy? The transition into veganism was easy for me. I was a vegetarian for 6 months in 2014.

Any tips/advice for someone interested in being a vegan? An individual has to be very open minded to enjoy veganism and its multitude of benefits. The longer you stick with it, the easier and more enjoyable it will become. It works really well if you see veganism as a passion and a lifestyle and not just a "diet restriction".

What's your favorite vegan recipe? My favorite vegan recipe is by far vegan nachos. I use an ingredient from Kroger called "beefless ground" as a meat substitute. I have not found a tasty and safe way to make vegan queso as of yet.

Black male vegans/vegetarians are rare but seems to be growing in popularity. Why do you think that is? I believe more and more black men are becoming effective leaders and realizing how much of a positive influence they can have on a person or group. Therefore, a great way to lead is of course by example.

Vegans are sometimes known for being extreme. What's the one thing you want people to know about vegans? We are people! We are people who have made a conscious decision to improve the lives of animals, our families, possibly future children, and ourselves. If we are extreme, remember it is our passion. It is our love.

Has it had an impact in other areas of your life? Yes! I love this question. Veganism had such an extreme impact in my spiritual life. Researching the benefits of a plant based diet has pushed me to study plants/fruits at a microscopic level. Studying plants/fruits on a "personal" level and really realizing how intricately designed they are. It makes me wonder. "Man someone or something has had to have some type of great intelligence to create food that meshes so well with my body. If it meshes well with the body, it'll mesh well with the mind and the spirit".

Veganism has helped my pockets. I spend less on groceries since my diet consist of specific food groups. It also has helped me gain a sense of discipline and control when it comes to not over eating or wasting foods. Veganism has also brought so many wonderful new relationships, which in turn brought a new level of self-confidence for me. I have strengthened my voice with this lifestyle.

Is there anything you like to add? Even if someone does not have it in their mind to go vegan, I would recommend people to scale back on their consumption of animal products if it is daily. Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

  1. I can see how Veganism can save money. I would imagine vegans preparing there own meals more driving down cost and increasing health and wellness.

    1. Yes I noticed that too. Another way to save some coins.

    2. You're right. I never realized how much money I was spending on food until I took my vegan lifestyle serious.

    3. Whoop Whoop! That's always a plus. Thanks for stopping by.
