Green Light- Audrey

An eco-sista who loves her connection to Mother Earth

How long have you been eco-friendly? I guess I would say I've been consciously eco-friendly for about two years now.

Why did you choose to be eco-friendly? I started to become more conscious of the impact I was having on my environment and my body and I wanted to be the change I wished to see.

What do you like about it? I love my connection to Mother Earth, taking care of her is like taking care of my mother. It's spiritual for me.

Did you face any challenges? If so, what was/is the biggest obstacle(s)? The challenges for me were dealing with negativity and put downs from others. Being consistent is my biggest obstacle. I'm working on it.

Any tips/advice for someone looking to be more eco-friendly? Read, educate yourself! Many people feel like others are trying to force beliefs on them. So, I encourage people to do independent research and make changes as they feel ready.

Going green can be complex. This discourages a lot of people. There's really no "right" way it's basically trying to do something than nothing at all. I sometimes feel like a green hypocrite. Do you feel that way sometimes? Yes, however I never blame or shame myself because I am doing the best I can in each moment.

You know I gotta ask, How long have you been natural and how do you keep it so FLY? I've been natural most of my life. For the past 2 years I've been locking my hair and I just focus on not stressing my locs with excessive re-twisiting and unnatural products. I've been vegetarian transitioning to vegan for 2 years. I do not consume dairy or eggs.

Is there anything you like to add? Your health is your wealth!
