Basil is one of my favorite herbs to cook with. It is also known as the king of herbs that can be used for seasoning and healing properties. It's a highly fragrant plant *goes to smell basil plant* that packs a powerful list of health benefits. This beautiful green plant is native to Asia and Africa that has been around for centuries. A member of the mint family, this aromatic herb can be added to just about every dish from soups to sandwiches. I saw a few drink recipes as well. There are a ton of varieties that you can start using now.

"Clueless" Tip- Don't buy packaged basil leaves that you see in the grocery store, instead grow your own. Trust me you're better off doing this so that you won't have to keep buying them. Ever since I started growing my own I haven't bought any of those packaged ones. They are very easy to care for. All they need is water, natural lighting, and just watch them grow.
