"Clueless" Health Benefits Of Cloves


These tiny spices have HUGE benefits. They have a very intense distinctive aroma. When you smell it you just know that it's the cloves giving off that aromatic vibe. Growing up, cloves were in just about every single dish that was being prepared. The one thing I didn't like about it though, was when I bit into it. It felt like a slight burn on my tongue. 

I've used my Pilon to crush cloves with other ingredients to make my own herb and spice mix. It's great for seasoning, pickling, and baking. I haven't baked with it yet but I look forward to see what I'll be baking next. 

Anyways, cloves have many health benefits. They've been around for centuries and this spice is a top source of anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

-Digestion
-Relieves colds and sinus
-Improves dental health and more

*Clueless Tip-There are also skin benefits too, but I prefer to cook with it for the flavor. If you do use it for skin it is always best to do your research and seek professional advice. 

As always too much of a good thing can be bad. A little goes a long way. Cloves can cause stomach problems when consumed in large amounts. It can also overpower your dish and end up being the only ingredient you're tasting if you use too much. My experience with it has taught me that less is more.
