I recently introduced the Natural Hair Community a while back and was sent two products to review.
Ingredients: Plantain Leaf, Organic Nettle Leaf, Black African Soap, and Essential Oil
I rarely use shampoo because I'm more of a co-washer. When I do, it's usually when I do my henntonite.
I confused the plantain shampoo for the actual plantain but that's not what it is. Plantain leaf has been used for centuries around the world to promote good health. This info was all new to me and I had no idea it can be used that way.
This shampoo smells wonderful. It's more of a liquid type of shampoo, but it does lather up once you start using it.
Peppermint Hibiscus Leave-In Conditioner-
Ingredients: Distilled water infused with certified organic Hibiscus Flower, Marshmallow Root, Burdock Root, Cupuacu Butter, Pure Raw Unrefined Ivory Shea Butter, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Castor Oil, Avocado Oil, BTMS (emulsifier), Agave Nectar,Vegetable Glycerin, Gaur Gum, Optiphen (preservative), Peppermint Essential Oil
I used this as a leave-in after using the shampoo. It doesn't have a thick consistency like most conditioners. This can also be used as a co-wash, detangler, or moisturizer.
I've tried it on damp and dry hair and my results were better with dry hair.
Overall, I was satisfied with the results of using these products. These are all natural ingredients with some being my first time using. I was more impressed with the plantain shampoo. I thought it wasn't going to lather up or get the job done but it did. The smell of the conditioner reminded me of peppermint candy. I'm still playing around with it to determine if I want to use it as a leave-in or moisturizer.
