Change is hard but it starts with one small step says this eco-sista
How long have you been eco-friendly? The thought has been with me since I did my big chop in 2009 but I have been more consistent and fully changed my lifestyle since last year 2014.
Why did you choose to be eco-friendly? My children. Here's a video where I explain more in detail with my husband.
What do you like about it? I love how its simplified my life by me just asking questions about the sustainability of an item or it's ingredients. I think twice before I buy, which save $ because I'm not buying just for a sale and a result I'm what you'd call a minimalist. I explain more here.
Did you face any challenges? If so, what was/is the biggest obstacle(s)? Family and friends thought I was the "Eco-Police" & I simply explained the reason why I choose to live this lifestyle and am not judging anyone for living their own way. We're all different and come to accept change individually and there's nothing wrong with that, it's human nature.
Any tips/advice for someone looking to be more eco-friendly? Research, Research, Research! Education is power, it sounds super cliche but there's tremendous truth in it.
Going green can be complex. This discourages a lot of people. There's really no "right" way it's basically trying to do something than nothing at all. I sometimes feel like a green hypocrite. Do you feel that way sometimes? No, I don't feel like a hypocrite. I live my life. Simple as that. I believe leading by example is the best way to showcase something different and new. When others want to learn more, they will come and ask. Change is hard but it all starts with one small step or thought.
You know I gotta ask, How long have you been natural and how do you keep it so FLY? Since, 2009 and I use my 7 minute wash-n-go routine for my style.
