Green Light- Lynnette

The number one thing to do is research says this eco-sista

How long have you been eco-friendly? Growing up I was always eco-friendly with recycling and saving energy. It was until last year that I decided to take it to another level with beauty products and foods.

Why did you choose to be eco-friendly? After seeing so many people get sick from harsh chemical being applied to their body, whether it's internal or external, those toxic chemical have a bad reaction on the human body such as cancer. I want to be on the safe side and consume as much organic products possible.

What do you like about it? After eating an organic meal I feel good about myself that I made a healthy life choice. I have also switched to fluoride-free toothpaste, all organic deodorant, and sulfate free shampoos. It works just the same, well actually even better knowing that its all organic.

Did you face any challenges? If so, what was/is the biggest obstacle(s)? The biggest challenge is finding eco-friendly foods and completely switching to all organic. I always search for the NON-GMO and USDA labels, but there are times you just want some junk food.

Any tips/advice for someone looking to be more eco-friendly? The number one thing to do is research so that you can actually find out about all the negative effects your current non-eco habits are having on yourself and your environment. When it comes to shopping, search for NON-GMO and USDA labels. As for household activities, always unplug electric items that are not being used, turn off lights when not being occupied, and recycle items. For your hair, protein, protein, protein. Avoid relaxers and all harsh chemicals.

Going green can be complex. This discourages a lot of people. There's really no "right" way it's basically trying to do something than nothing at all. I sometimes feel like a green hypocrite. Do you feel that way sometimes? It definitely is hard to be completely green but I do the best I can to my abilities.

You know I gotta ask, How long have you been natural and how do you keep it so FLY? As I mentioned before, I recommend everyone to stop using relaxers and harsh chemicals on their hair. Although, yes your hair might be shiny and sleek in the long run it is so not worth it. Harsh chemicals on your hair can cause severe breakage. Natural hair is in ladies! Rock those curls!

If you are scared to do the big chop, check out my brand BellaKurls, clip-in curly hair extensions for all the natural haired ladies- curly, kinky, afro, and wavy!

Is there anything you like to add? I know it's not easy to go natural especially with hair. While transitioning to curly hair stages I wanted the option of rocking my natural hair but wanted some extra length. Which is why I created my brand BellaKurls clip-in curly hair extensions. I can now add instant length while styling my natural curls. Since I know there are so many kinds of curls alongside my texture I have added kinky curly and will soon add afro and wavy curly clip-in hair extensions to make sure I cater to all my curly haired bells.
