Product Review- Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques

I'm so excited to share some of the products that was sent to me for review from Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques. A natural and organic company whose mission is to provide women with natural and healthy beauty products, and to empower women to embrace and celebrate their unique beauty.

I love that mission statement!

Let's get started-

Key Ingredients: Shea Butter, Rosehip, Vitamin E Oil, Jojoba Oil

This is a matte eyeshadow that smells really delicious. Yes... it smells delicious! I read the ingredients to try and figure out what it was and... organic vanilla extract. I tried it different ways to get my desired look and here's how that went….

By itself- Nope because *in my TLC voice* I don't want no smudge, a smudge is a style that gets no love from me.

With a primer- Ha! *in my Whitney voice* Didn't we almost have it all...

Mixed with eyeshadows already on hand- Hey now! The results were better than the previous tries. I used the creme shadow as a base and I was feeling it, but I'm still playing around with it though.

Key Ingredients: Beeswax, Coconut, Pomegranate, Vitamin E Oil, Stevia Leaf

A deep plum wine shimmer that gives long lasting wear made with organic oils. Sorry y'all, I didn't find any traces of wine in it. :) When it comes to lipstick, I have a stronger preference for the matted no shine look. Anyways, this got a thumbs up from me because it's not sticky and is very moisturizing. A major plus for me.

Key Ingredients: 100% Organic and Wildcrafted Essentials Oils blended in 100% Organic Jojoba Oil base

I've been on the lookout for a more natural perfume. I even tried making my own mist/perfume/cologne combo and the results didn't go well. However, I did make my own scented body moisturizer and I use it almost daily and I'm still working to perfect the scent of it. Too much work…too much work. :)

There are four different scents and I went with Allure. Per the site: Allure is a soft and sweet floral blend of orange blossom and lotus.

It's a quiet scent that doesn't make you feel like you just stepped out of a pool of highly scented perfume. The one thing I did notice is being that it's an oil base perfume, it doesn't last as long so you'll have to keep re-applying.

Key Ingredients: Beeswax, Argan Oil, Silica, Phytolipid Complex, Green Tea, Zinc Dioxide

I admit make-up is not something I get excited about anymore which is why I don't blog about it. I wear it and honestly, I've become a "less is more" kind of girl. However, I'm trying to have more blog post on natural/organic make-up because I want to try more colors and do different looks. Arrrggh! I'm already exhausted thinking about this.

I've been wearing mineral foundation for years, so trying creme foundation was a welcome change from what I'm used to. I tried them one by one doing swatch test, dotting on my face here and there, then the mix-tress in me blended them all together. I love how I was given a good amount to play around with.

Even though I got a lot of play time with the foundations, we just weren't getting along. I wasn't getting the coverage I was looking for. But, I didn't give up. I went to the drawing board and had a lightbulb moment…. why don't I use it with my mineral foundation and see how it comes out. If it doesn't work I'll accept that me and creme foundations will never be the best of friends.

I used the creme foundation first making sure to blend well. Once I was done with that I put the mineral foundation on top of it. I used small amounts for both of them and I'm glad I did because I got my coverage. I prefer a more natural look. My face was smooth and I was impressed with how I didn't look like a soul food cook towards the end of the day.

Overall, these are some quality products that I would recommend to anyone looking for non-toxic all natural/organic products. Companies that caters to the eco-friendly lifestyle, are the ones I wouldn't mind spending a little extra knowing that I don't have to worry about being irritated with toxic ingredients. Their products are:

-Certified Cruelty Free
-Non GMO
-Natural/Organic
-Paraben Free
