An eco-mommy who love that her children's health has improved by being eco-friendly
How long have you been eco-friendly? Since 2008
Why did you choose to be eco-friendly? Primarily because of my children and the health challenges they had- asthma, eczema, heart defects, and a damaged kidney. Overtime, I came to discover that these were all linked to the toxic chemicals in my home.
What do you like about it? My children's health has improved dramatically. They are no longer required to take the daily asthma meds (because the air quality in my home is much cleaner), the eczema has cleared up and the removal of these toxic chemicals has also improved our health outlook by leaps and bounds, greatly reducing cancer risks, organ damage, and so much more.
Did you face any challenges? If so, what was/is the biggest obstacle(s)? Not really, because I was easily able to convert pretty much everything in my home like cleaning products, toiletries, my makeup, haircare products, everything. Even the food industry has made it much easier to make healthier food choices. We are dairy, gluten, wheat, and soy free also.
Any tips/advice for someone looking to be more eco-friendly? Research and find the right products to support your lifestyle. I learned very early on that most of the products in store are not eco-friendly. No matter how much they claim to be natural and green. Finding a manufacturer that truly is has made the transition super easy.
You know I gotta ask, How long have you been natural and how do you keep it so FLY? I've been natural since 2011 and I LOVE it. My hair is so much healthier and has grown so much since I let go of the creamy crack. I wash, condition, and flat iron my hair once a week, keep it trimmed and maintained.
Is there anything you like to add? I LOVE living a natural/eco-friendly lifestyle. It has made my family so much healthier, just by making a few small/simple changes. It is now my passion to share it with others. Check out my website The Eco Green Queen
