Green Light- Jasmine

An eco-sista who says being eco-friendly should never be pressured

How long have you been eco-friendly? I have been conscious over an eco-friendly lifestyle since I've started my business. I would say about 1 year now.

Why did you choose to be eco-friendly? I figured since my business is about clean ingredients that goes onto our body, I felt that I shouldn't have harmful packaging as well. I wanted to be mindful of it. I wanted to use the right packaging that went along with my clean ingredients.

What do you like about it? I believe it's more than just a "phase", and I like that by being eco-friendly we are taking better steps to taking care of our environment and earth. It's only so much we can do, but it's a start.

Did you face any challenges? If so, what was/is the biggest obstacle(s)? Not many challenges except making sure that the type of material I use for my products aren't harmful or offensive to anyone that is more eco-friendly than myself.

Any tips/advice for someone looking to be more eco-friendly? Research is key! That helps a whole lot. It's more than just buying better bottles and spending all your money. It's more than that.

Going green can be complex. This discourages a lot of people. There's really no "right" way it's basically trying to do something than nothing at all. I sometimes feel like a green hypocrite. Do you feel that way sometimes? Ha Ha... Yes I do sometimes, and I will probably keep making some minor eco mistakes. I can only keep trying and it will never be enough to some people, but at least I'm trying. But I do feel it should never be pressured but by choice.

You know I gotta ask, How long have you been natural and how do you keep it so FLY? Thank You :) I have been natural for about 2 years now. It feels great to finally accept my hair in it's natural state. It's fun looking at YouTube tutorials and actually taking care of my old damaged hair and bringing hope back to it.

Is there anything you like to add? I would like to say thanks for this interview and that I hope it inspires those who are having difficulty of understanding being eco-friendly.
