An eco-sista who says Get into the lifestyle! Live it! Get connected!
How long have you been eco-friendly? I will be an eco-conscious friendly human 4 years this August.
Why did you choose to be eco-friendly? I've always been drawn to the earth tones, simply beautiful branding inspired by nature and these brands all happen to be "eco-friendly". So after researching each brand I became a loyal customer. I became conscious of some of the things they were advocating for and shaping a better world for which naturally started changing me and how I lived. One of these brands is the now famous TOMS
What do you like about it? It's conscious. It's friendly. It's the right thing to do if we truly respect Mama Earth who birthed us and it's fly! Come on! Have you seen some of these eco-friedly brands out here? They're pretty innovative and cool. Brands like The Tafari and Satori Movement inspire me to stay authentic and true! I like it because it's honorable.
Did you face any challenges? If so, what was/is the biggest obstacle(s)? So hard! Like something so simple in my head now that I am eco-friendly/conscious…is the usage of mason jars instead of plastic! Breaking my plastic habits has been an ongoing difficult problem that I am disciplining myself to do now. Thank god for cute mason jars, fruits, mints, lavender, and stuff. LOL! But complete zero tolerance/usage of plastic in my life is the biggest obstacle because the world is so full of it. Just keeping it real. Namaste and cheers to innovation and a close community like ours that keep the energy and accountability up!

Any tips/advice for someone looking to be more eco-friendly? Get into the lifestyle. Live it. Get connected. Support small eco-friendly brands, blogs, etc.
Going green can be complex. This discourages a lot of people. There's really no "right" way it's basically trying to do something than nothing at all. I sometimes feel like a green hypocrite. Do you feel that way sometimes? Oh yes! I believe I answered this question above in regards to obstacles. Definitely with plastic usage.
You know I gotta ask, How long have you been natural and how do you keep it so FLY? LOL! 8 months or so honestly. My sister Alex Elle had her blessed handed sister friend who is a barber in the Maryland area do the big chop on me and I actually fell in love with the cut so I think the energy I carried with me motivated by my sis Alex Elle to just let go and let free definitely reflects how I keep it fly. I just show it a lot of love and what not. I use very nutritious products that are eco-conscious on my hair. A lot of it comes from Indian and Ethiopian stores and they are cleansing oils. Then I go in the river when I get a chance and wash my hair with Dr. Bonners with the fresh mineral water.
Is there anything you like to add? I am very honored to do this blog sister. Give thanks for the opportunity. Many blessings to you. Amesegenalo! (Thank You in Amharic)
