Oil Pulling With Sesame Oil

Here I go again trying something new. I started oil pulling in January and my oil of choice was coconut oil. However, it wants to remain in solid mode and it's time consuming waiting for it to melt. No worries, I moved on to sesame oil. Sesame is known as the queen of all oils. I'm already familiar with it because it's a huge part of my skincare regimen.

Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic remedy that involves swishing oil in your mouth to help promote oral and overall health. I don't do it every single day but I've been consistent with doing it often. I no longer use commercial toothpaste because I make my own. After oil pulling for a few weeks I have noticed smoother teeth. However, I'm going to be honest and say overall I didn't see that much of a difference.

I'm not giving up on oil pulling just yet. While researching I found tons of other overall health benefits. I also didn't find that much negative feedbacks about it. Just a few dental concerns about not letting oil pulling take place of brushing your teeth. The journey continues…..

Use 1 tablespoon sesame oil for 20 minutes and swish like you would mouthwash. Try doing it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Do not swallow it and do not spit it out into your sink because you might clog your drain.
