Clueless Shrimp And Grits



I've had grits and I'm a huge shrimp lover. However, I never had the two together. I remember growing up eating mayi moulen (corn meal). A haitian dish my mom made often by itself and it filled me up like I just had a feast. Yummers!

There were so many versions out there so of course *in my Frank Sinatra voice* I did it my way.

INGREDIENTS
-Tomatoes
-Scallions
-Purple Onions
-Parsley
-Seasoned Salt
-Olive Oil
-Butter(I used the smart balance kind)
-Fresh Garlic (crushed)
and….


A must have


Bring 2-3 cups water to boil add some salt. Add grits and cook for about 5 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Remove from stove and let stand. I forgot how quickly this stuff cooks. On to cooking the shrimp. 




I marinated the shrimps over night with
parsley, sesoned salt, garlic, and leftover stock from crab boil

Here we go! Whoop Whoop!

Heat butter and olive oil to skillet (the amount depends on you I pretty much eyeball the situation) add veggie mix and cook for about 2-3 minutes. Add marinated shrimp; cook for about 5 minutes and…. 



Beautifully done!

I wish the grits came with a warning label. I was trying to take pics as it was cooking and next thing you know I was under attack. It was bubbling and spitting at me. Ouch!!! Another winner going in my recipe book.

    1. Yes!!! It was delicious and is now a staple. I got the grits from Big Lots. I'm always finding unique items there. It's one of my favorite places to shop. Thanks for stopping by.
