Spring Cleaning With Essential Oils

It's that time again. Spring is in the air!  Time for some much needed cleaning. A better way to do that is by using essential oils. They are all natural and don't have any toxic chemicals that can be harmful to your health.

Essential oils- a natural oil typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic fragrance of the plant or other source from which it is extracted. (Oxford Dictionary)

They all have their unique clean scent and pulls double sometimes triple duties. I'm constantly mixing them together to make air fresheners.

Lavender- Known for it's pleasant scent and soothing properties. It's also antiseptic.

Tea Tree- Powerful antiseptic and germicidal properties. I also used this to swish in my mouth when I was having a toothache and it gave me temporary relief

Peppermint- Natural anti-inflammatory. Perfect for an all natural multi-purpose cleaner. Can also be used while brushing your teeth.

Lemon- The #1 oil for household cleaning. Add a few drops to water when mopping or multi-purpose cleaning. The list goes on with this one

Eucalyptus- Another powerful anti-septic, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. I used in air freshener. It also came in handy when I had a stuffy nose.

There are so many essential oils out there find what fits you best. Check out some cleaning products that I made here. Now if only I can find an eco-product that really gets rid of mold, my eco-cleaning would be 100% complete. I'm still holding on to a product that is not eco-friendly but it gets the job done.
