What's (New) In Your Kitchen?

I've been adding some new items/produce/groceries for my kitchen to enjoy. I've eliminated a lot of processed food. *Sniff Sniff* But there's a few that I still crave from time to time. Them french fries and salty white cheddar popcorn just be calling my name. But for the most part, a lot of it is healthy. YAY!!!!!!!

I no longer eat beef or pork. I seriously thought that was never going to happen. The holidays are coming so I might relapse. Just saying... sounds like a good excuse to get those arteries clogged up again. Ha! One last time before the end of the year. Whose with me?

Anyways, when I started this journey one of my main goals was to reduce my meat eating and try different foods. I've been doing so and some have become a staple while others continue to get a bad rap. *cough cough* brussel sprouts. I'm also adding more fruits and veggies to my diet.

The reason for me, I was someone who ate a lot of crap and it showed. Have you ever seen a skinny unhealthy person? That was me and I wasn't feeling that look. The foods I grew up eating was doing more harm than good. It was time to change my eating habits.




GINGER

One of the world's healthiest foods is a spicy herb. It's a plus for me I'm a sucker for spicy food, not too spicy tho. So far I've grated it with salmon and chicken and I was not disappointed. The zest, flavor, aroma my goodness!!! I don't think you can go wrong with adding ginger to just about anything.



ARUGULA

Move over kale. This is another herb/greens that I've added to my healthy eating journey. The taste is not as bitter as eating kale. Don't worry kale you're still #1 when I make my smoothies. But, enough about you. Arugula has tons of health benefits. There's just too many to name. I've been eating it raw or with a simple dressing that I make. I blend or whisk (depends on the mood I'm in) lemon juice, olive oil, seasoned salt, and pepper. There's so many ways to enjoy this. Check out two of my favs here and here.


OATMEAL

I don't know how and why I missed this one. This is like a snack to me without feeling guilty. Many people eat for breakfast but I'm all over the place with it. I've tried different kinds but my taste buds only wants Apple Cinnamon. Yummy!!! Psstt.... a little birdie told me if you're looking to flatten your tummy this is a must in your kitchen.



KIMCHI

A friendly bacteria that my gut can enjoy. I thought I wasn't going to like it but it's a keeper.




I got a grill y'all 

I purchased this grill earlier this year and I can't stop using it. It cooks fast and makes my food taste like it was made in a gourmet restaurant.
