Wheat Bran

I picked this up thinking it was wheat germ. I'm the type of shopper that likes to be in and out asap. I know where this, this, and that is and I just grab and go to the next. I get home and see it's wheat bran instead of wheat germ. I'm like what's the difference?? So, I found out that they are both rich in fiber BUT....there's always that but. Why is there so many levels to healthy eating?

Wheat Bran: is the outer part of the wheat known for fiber and nutrients that can help with constipation

Wheat Germ: is the heart of the wheat that has more nutrients like vitamin E, folate, and more that is not found in the bran

One is not really better than the other it's just during production is where it loses it's nutritional value. Check out my post on Wheat Germ and Flaxseed
