Green Light- KeetaRay

A fierce eco-sista doing her part to be eco-friendly.

How long have you been eco-friendly?  I would say probably since I have been natural or right before. So about 2-3 years.

Why did you choose to be eco-friendly? I'm just noticing so many changes in the environment and hear so many reports of how the things we do and what we use hurts the environment. I just want to do my part.

What do you like about it? I like that by changing small things in our daily routines and buying "smarter" and using less packaging, we can do our part to help the environment and ultimately make things better for our children, grandchildren, and so on.

Did you face any challenges? If so, what was/is the biggest obstacle(s)? No, not really. It is so easy now. It seems almost everyone is becoming eco-friendly, from your local Starbucks, to supermarket chains, to clothing stores...

Any tips/advice for someone looking to be more eco-friendly? I'd say just look around you. And do some research online. There are so many ways to make changes that can benefit us all.

Going green can be complex. This discourages a lot of people. There’s really no “right” way it’s basically trying to do something than nothing at all. I sometimes feel like a green hypocrite. Do you feel that way sometimes? Sometimes. But I try to remember that I can't change EVERYTHING in a day. Little changes each day add up to big results :-)

You know I gotta ask, How long have you been natural and how do you keep it so FLY? Thank you! I've been completely natural since November 2008. Honestly, during my 8 month transition I did A LOT of research online on how to care for my natural hair. I already knew I'd have to use different techniques and products than I did when I was relaxed, the trick was just finding what worked best for me. Doing research doesn't eliminate challenges you'll have in getting used to your natural hair and how to care for it, but it will cut the learning curve drastically.

Is there anything you like to add? I just want to thank you for featuring me and I am flattered and happy to do this :-)
